بورسیه دکتری در مهندسی شیمی، شیمی، علم مواد، مکانیک در سوئد

The research at the Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics (TVM) at Luleå University is strongly multi-disciplinary. Its 300 co-workers are active in research ranging from fundamental mathematics and physics to applied mechanical engineering including topics such as tribology, materials science, fluid dynamics, energy process and wood technology. TVM has unique lab resources and a very wide range of competences. Research is often carried out in close collaboration with external partners from industry and/or other universities. TVM is a very good environment for PhD studies with more than 150 doctoral students enrolled in the four years program which also includes several courses on topics relevant for the research project. The Division of Machine Elements at Luleå University of Technology is one of the leading tribology research groups in Europe. See the group’s webpage on http://www.ltu.se/research/subjects/Maskinelement?l=en.

Subject description
Machine Elements comprises the analysis and optimisation of machine components and component systems in order to enhance performance, longevity, energy-efficiency and reliability and to reduce environmental impact. Particular emphasis is placed on issues in the field of tribology.

Duties
The research project is focused on environmentally friendly and sustainable lubricants with the aim at developing environmentally friendly lubricants or lubricant additives from renewable/recycles raw materials. The project also has the plan to develop knowledge and understanding of the lubricating process from nano-scale to macro-scale with or without chemical change during the process. Special focus will be given to develop lubricants with superlubricity properties and to understand their mechanisms. The PhD studies are 4 year, fulltime. Administration and/or lecturing 20% may be added.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Master of Science degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences (chemical engineering, chemistry, material science, mechanical engineering, etc.), or equivalent, and very good skills in oral and written communication in English.

The following selection criteria apply:

• Knowledge relevant to the project in question,

• The quality of the applicant’s degree project,

• Personal qualities relevant to education at post-graduate level.
