The research training group 1576/2 ‘Value and equivalence. The genesis and transformation of values from an archaeological and anthropological perspective’, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), offers 2 postdoctoral positions (fixed-term of 2 years, E13 TV-G-U, full-time) starting 1st of March 2017.

Applicants have completed their PhD with outstanding results in one of the subjects represented at the Research Training Group, and with a topic related to the research scope of the group. The group at the Goethe University Frankfurt and the Technische Universität Darmstadt focuses on concepts of value and equivalence in relation to material culture in a broad geographical and chronological framework. Further information is available on our website www.value-and-equivalence.de

The successful applicant will be expected to take part in the development of the programme and its activities, and to support doctoral students in their professional and personal development. The main language is German. However, due to the internationality of the group, the study programme will be conducted in German and English language, and applications from abroad and in English are welcome. Residence in or near Frankfurt is a requirement of the position.

The Research Training Group and the universities involved have an equal opportunity policy and therefore explicitly encourage women to apply for the position. According to German law, under equal conditions disabled persons will be given preference.
