The School of Business at the University of Southeast Norway has 3–۵ vacants positions as research fellows in the PhD programme in marketing management. Applicants must be enrolled in the PhD programme at the School of Business to qualify for the fellowships. Qualifications
• Applicants must hold a master of science degree in marketing, business, management or equivalent. Students currently enrolled in a master programme are also welcome to apply, but must expect to have earned their degree before the appointment begins.
• Applicants must have achieved grade B or above to qualify for the programme.
• Applicants must have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Norwegian or another Scandinavian language will be an advantage.
• Applicants must be able to cooperate with fellow students and faculty staff, and to work independently on academic topics.

Applications must include the following documents:
• An application letter, including personal suitability and motivation for the position (motivation letter).
• Curriculum vitae (with full information about education, grades, prior positions, teaching experience, research and administrative experience, and a list of publications and conference presentations).
• A research proposal for a PhD project (8‒۱۰ pages). The proposal must include the topic for the planned PhD research, a research problem (area), relevant theory, scientific methods, and a time schedule.
• In addition, applicants must upload the following documents: a) cdertified diplomas and certificates from university college/university; b) two letters of recommendation; c) master’s thesis (if finished. If not, a one-page summary of the ongoing thesis); d) the application form for the PhD programme; and e) GMAT/GRE test results, if applicable.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance (grades from bachelor and master degrees), relevant research work, the project plan and interview performance. Applicants are encouraged to include documentation of earlier, relevant work that shows academic potential. Applicants are encouraged to plan a stay abroad during the fellowship period.

Additional information
The appointments will commence on 7 August 2017 or on an alternative date agreed with the Programme Director. The workplace is the Department of Business, Marketing and Law at Campus Ringerike.

The positions are four-year fixed-term appointments. Duties will be divided as follows: 75% to research and 25% to other duties, such as teaching at bachelor or master level or to other projects related to activities at the School of Business.

Salary
The position is remunerated according to the state salary scale, grade code 50 (code 1017, LR 20.8), currently NOK 435,500 per annum. Further promotion will be based on service in the position. Grade code 1378 may apply in special cases. A statutory contribution will be made from the employee’s salary to the state pension plan. The Academic Appointments Board is responsible for appointments to academic positions at University College of Southeast Norway. An expert assessment of applicants will be carried out. Short-listed candidates will be called in for interviews and must be prepared to present and discuss their projects.
