For the academic year 2017-2018, the institute of Health Policy & Management (iBMG) will provide financial support to a yet to be determined number of non-EEA students who will start an iBMG master programme as of 1 September, 2017. The grant opportunities are as follows:

Individual grants for excellent non-EEA students

This financial support in the form of an individual grant comprises a reduction of the institution’s tuition fee for the academic year 2017-2018 (€ ۱۱٫۰۰۰) to the basic rate of the statutory tuition fee (€ ۲٫۰۰۶).

Students who are eligible for the individual grant for excellent non-EEA students must submit their application for the master programme and their grant application before 15 May, 2017. The iBMG grant committee will assess all applications and inform candidates about the result of their application after 15 June, 2017 and before 1 July, 2017.

Award conditions

For students to be eligible for this individual grant, they must:

  • be accepted and enrolled for either the master Health Care Management or the master Health Economics, Policy & Law in the academic year 2017-2018 as of 1 September 2017 at the latest; and
  • reside in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg or the following states of the Federal Republic of Germany: North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony or Bremen as of 1 September, 2017 at the latest; and
  • be a national of a non-EEA country; and
  • have a bachelor degree with excellent results at university-level (students holding a degree from a university of applied sciences are not eligible for the grant) and in a relevant field;
  • be able to demonstrate excellence (an average final result of at least 8.0 or equivalent) in the student’s prior education (the bachelor degree that enables the student to be accepted for the master programme Health Care Management or Health Economics, Policy & Law); and
  • be motivated to graduate within one academic year and with excellent results, which must be demonstrated by a personal letter of motivation to the iBMG grant committee. The letter of motivation must describe the importance of the grant for the student and for his/her country of residence as well as the importance for iBMG.

The following countries are considered to be part of the European Economic Area (EEA): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.All other countries are considered to be ‘non-EAA countries’.

Application procedures

  • Students must submit their grant application before 15 May, 2017;
  • Students must submit their application for the master Health Care Management or the master Health Economics, Policy & Law by no later than 15 May, 2017;
  • Please note that grant applications will only be considered if the student has also submitted an application for the master Health Care Management or the master Health Economics, Policy & Law before the deadline;
  • Students must fill in the online registration form completely;
  • The registration form shall be complete only if accompanied by:
    – a thesis written during the student’s prior education (if the thesis is not finished yet or is not in English an English abstract of 3 A4 pages will have to be attached);
    – a personal letter of motivation;
    – a different letter of recommendation than the one used to apply for the master programme;
  • Students will be notified of the iBMG grant committee’s decision by no later than 1 July, 2017.

Holland Scholarship programme

The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Scholarship amount and conditions

The scholarship amounts to € ۵,۰۰۰٫ You will receive this in the first year of your studies. The scholarship will only be rewarded when you will start with the same programme for which you have applied and for which you have received admission.

Application criteria

  • Your nationality is non-EEA;
  • You are applying for a full-time, English taught bachelor’s programme or master’s programme at the institute of Health Policy & Management;
  • You have never before studied at an educational institution in the Netherlands;
  • You have to pay the institute tuition fee because you do not meet the nationality requirement;
  • You must have achieved excellent study results in your prior education. This means an average final result of at least grade 8.0 (or the equivalent) during their prior education. For these purposes, prior education means:
    • for prospective bachelor students: secondary education abroad
    • for prospective master students: previous bachelor study abroad
  • You meet the specific requirements of Erasmus University Rotterdam (to be announced once it is possible to apply)

Application procedure

Students who have applied for a bachelor’s or master’s programme at the institute of Health Policy & Management and who meet the application criteria can apply for the scholarship before 15 April 2017.

The application procedure for the Holland Scholarship Programme is as follows:

  • Students must fill in the online application form completely.
  • The registration form shall be complete only if accompanied by an authenticated list of grades achieved during the student’s prior education and a letter of motivation.
  • Students will be notified of the awards committee’s decision before ۱ June 2017.
