  • Scholarship: $26,682 p.a. stipend indexed & tax-free

A PhD scholarship is available for cutting-edge research into novel graphene reinforced nanocomposite systems for functional applications. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with world leading Composites Research Team at the Factory of the Future, Swinburne.

The Factory of the Future is the central facility supporting innovative manufacturing and technology at Swinburne University of Technology. Factory of the Future is a capability pillar within Swinburne Innovation Precinct and a key facility for the Manufacturing Futures Institute. As such the facility supports a diverse range of teaching, research and commercialisation activities. It is a home to a wide range of collaborative partnerships including with CSIRO Lab 22, ARC Training Centre in Biodevices and our new Industry 4.0 TestLab.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A Bachelor degree Honours and/or a research master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the research topic (or equivalent)
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination certificate with a minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0
  • A background in Engineering/Chemistry/Materials Science or a related field;
  • Knowledge and experience with polymers, carbon fibre or carbon nanomaterials or graphene
